I am starting to find a bit of time left over so perhaps I will fit in other things like this:

sallys-block

Was great to see some familiar and new faces in craft-off  a few weeks ago when I was let out briefly. The sparks were flying off Mary’s sticks.  Life is good here but very busy - trying to squeeze is as much “balance” as possible whilst keeping the little people at the top of the heap.  you know when you go to ground, then go nuts from not doing much so you get the diary out and book it up, and then have to go to ground to recover. Just working on finding that happy medium…..  Hope all good out there xxx

phew…

ghost-pic

no, its not a ghost, I really do exist.  What a busy time it’s been - starting school, kinder, house re-org, a few other new babies, getting to know Tex - I actually got to have a cup of tea this morning.  Tex is kicking goals and is already 4 cm taller than the other two were at the same age…so easy to lose time - especially now he’s smiling and shmoozing us…  In the middle of a carnivale costume - you know the one, skimpy glittery bikini with big feathers on my head….I wish.  Not quite - will take some pics and potentially get around to loading them on…  in the meantime, i will try to get to qv this weekend - check out their summer series here - i know the parks are packed with summer fun - let me know if you have tried qv and its shite.

What’s japanese for Grrrr??

A while back one of the little ladies choose some fabric and I had a go at my first japanese craft book pattern. The sleeves were a bit tricky but I’m pretty happy with the result:

To Market To Market

Wow, it’s over.  Yep, I did a market. I was skeptical but it totally exceeded my expectations.  I had fun, thanks to Threadden, all the lovely visitors, known and new.  And of course BIG Thanks if you bought something.  Fabo. Thanks to my Market Mentor for her furniture and Kimmy for her most excellent and appreciated rack (i know, another rack joke - i still find it funny).

Where I like to be….

We recently took the kids for a mini holiday to one of my favourite places within sensible driving range.  I LOVE the river.  As soon as I get up there I feel calm.

We squeezed in quite a lot, and I even read a book. First stop was the races:

We had a lovely (although slightly slanty) picnic:

And the girls got some practice in (I used to love doing this with my dad - such a brilliant memory - for me anyway - it probably wasn’t quite as much fun for him until I’d had enough practice……):

And then there was the Golden Cow, the pedicure and massage,  a wicked kids playground, golf for the bloke, the very little cooking, the pool, the very yummy dinner and the just going slow for a few days…..  Lovely…..

Making and The Market

I have had big plans for much blogging but alas, time is short and the sun is hot (melting my house I think).    However, have got to share what Andi found here:

Have been busy making stuff other than babies:

I’m doing a market - how funny. It will be interesting to see how it goes.  I have always admired anyone who gets out there and makes the effort but Lara’s post a feww months ago got me thinking.  I figured, this is the local one and its now or never.  So come on down to check out my rack……. filled with boys and girls dress ups and everyday wear made from recycled, remnant and reclaimed materials.  Or just come and say “Hi” -  (there is a fancy flyer but I’m too technically challenged to sort it out):

I’ve been working hard

….and I got very envious of mag / book collection at friend’s house recently. Bought these on Monday:

My smallest (soon to be middlesized) assistant chose this fabric from that haven tessuti to make this dress:

Am booked in to do this market (more to come on this when I finish my contract at the end of the month) so busy getting things together for this. Dress is on the post Nov 15 todo list (unless it proves irresistible before then….)

Anyone got any hot tips for using these dishdelishous japanese books / patterns?
